What is AMP for Email?

AMP for Email transforms static emails into dynamic, interactive experiences — right inside your inbox. Instead of sending users to a website to take action, AMP allows things like filling out forms, RSVPing to events, browsing carousels, or updating preferences — all without ever leaving the email itself.

Originally developed by Google, AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) technology brings real-time functionality and a smoother user experience to modern email communications.

How AMP for Email Works

Traditional HTML marketing emails rely on a multi-part MIME email that includes a plain-text version to fallback on if the HTML can't load. AMP for Email takes this a step further by adding a third MIME part by adding special AMP components (<amp-form>, <amp-carousel>, etc.) inside the email's HTML. To use AMP:

  • You must build a multi-part MIME email that includes:
  • Your domain must be whitelisted or authenticated by email providers (like Google) to send AMP-enabled emails.

If an email client doesn't support AMP, the regular HTML version is shown automatically.
